AlSher was founded as a joint venture between Altair Nanotechnologies, Inc. (ALTI) and The Sherwin-Williams Company (SHW) in 2007 to develop proprietary technology for the pigment and nano materials markets.

In 2010 ownership of AlSher was consolidated in Sherwin-Williams and the company was subsequently spun out to 5iTech. Under 5iTech management, the company relocated from Reno, NV to Cleveland, Ohio.

AlSher APM manufactures and develops high performance nano- and micron- sized materials for a variety of industrial applications.
