This is an instrumentation and controls company, which will also ultimately expand to medical device and diagnostics markets.
The Aria product captures the physical and chemical changes that occur when liquids dry and provides a distinctive “fingerprint” of each liquid. Possible applications include detecting counterfeit and adulterated medications and erroneous drug dosages.
Aria's R&D team has proven the technology's functionality in blind studies with several prospective corporate consumers. Moreover, they have performed and reported at international conferences on their research into early detection of breast cancer.
This is an ophthalmic device company co-founded by 5iTech, EST, Inc. (a medical electronics design company of Solon, Ohio), and JSC MACDEL (a medical device company headquartered in Moscow, Russia).
Ocualtek is bringing to western markets a line of new ophthalmic therapeutic products developed by MACDEL. Due to the advanced stage of Oculatek’s product development - over 500,000 patients have already been treated for myopia with this device in Eastern Europe. In the US Oculatek has successfully completed two small studies and currently is working with Air Force Branches on developing an IRB protocol for a clinical study that will involve 100 or more patients with presbyopia.

The Sterionics device generates cold plasma (average mass temperature less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit – body temperature) based on air, water or chemical compounds.
The cold plasma device has been demonstrated to have strong antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties delivering rapid wound or tissue disinfection without damage to healthy living tissue. In addition, the Sterionics device has been demonstrated to have strong wound/tissue healing properties.
The device will substantially reduce patient's’ risk of contracting post operative staph infections – improving patient care, reducing costs to the healthcare system and risks borne by hospitals.
Demonstrated applications include: • Elimination of staphylococcus cultures in vitro and in vivo; • Deactivation of measles virus in live vaccine; • Treatment of skin diseases (herpetic infection, diabetic ulcers), • Use in ophthalmic applications (viral keratitis), • Dental applications (disinfection after tooth extraction, plaque removal), and • ENT applications (treating tonsil abscess).
Sterionics is successfully collaborating with The Akron General Medical Center and Kent State University where the effectiveness of the device has been demonstrated in in-vitro studies.
AlSher was founded as a joint venture between Altair Nanotechnologies, Inc. (ALTI) and The Sherwin-Williams Company (SHW) in 2007 to develop proprietary technology for the pigment and nano materials markets.
